Fucking Awesome!!
Anyone catch the War Machine reference? :)
One of the better Marvel Movies thus far.
Harold and Kumar Escape Guantanamo Bay
We all knew there was going to be a sequel... but this seems a little far-fetched. However, I'm almost assuredly going to see it. Because, despite being a rather sober lass, I love a good, zany slacker/stoner flick. I've practically worn out my copy of Half Baked.
Between this and my love for sci-fi, super hero and vampire flicks, one can only conclude that I have the worst taste in movies, ever.
Alright... is it just me... or are the new Spicy Sweet Chilli Doritos goth as fuck...?
At least that is the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw that dark purple and black bag. With its flames and creepy font... and... I SWEAR that is a razor blade slashing across the center of the bag!
They are rather tasty to boot! :)
In doing research in 20's and 30's American culture, fashion and icons for my trip to Dances of Vice I eventually found my way to the Wikipedia entry for Mae West.
Of course, I only knew her as the voluptuous bombshell, but I also learned that (amongst many other things) she was a prolific playwright, controversial comedienne, and a VERY outspoken defender of gay and transgender rights! O.O
Way ahead of her time.
I think she is becoming my new hero! :D
The Birthday Massacre are starting to grow on me. When I first started listening to Violet I wasn't very impressed, ever song kind of sounded the same to me -- with the exception, perhaps, of Blue. In fact, the first song I ever heard from them was Blue so I assumed THAT was there sound (alternating between sweet, innocent sounding verse, and growling, screeching choruses -- and heavy guitar). For a "synth rock" band they seem to use the same damn voice/settings on their synth for every song. I'm used to "synth bands" actually utilizing that ADSR envelope.
But, After the hundredth listening or so, Violet is starting to grow on me. By some strange co-incidence, my favorite tracks on the album are the ones that have colors as their titles (Blue, Violet, Black...)
If interested, check out some audio/visual on their MySpace Page. (The video for Blue is pretty cool).
There is of course, Wikipedia, for a little background...
Coming from a visual place, I appreciate their overall look. Dark, but colorful. Childish but dark and evil. Love this sort of juxtaposition...
Maine Made Fetish Porn.
I shit you not.

Everyday this state gets a little less lame. >:D
Apparently it started as a fetishy footwear store, and kind of grew from there. Their shop is, of all places, downtown Augusta. The state capital, and more or less where I grew up. The main street downtown is run down and the entire state above Portland is seriously lacking in awesome. So I must say its inspiring to see this.
It's also encouraging because even though it would be awesome to do something groovy here in Portland, the cost of living is way too high, and having a business here would make things a hundred times more costly.
klemrev has suggested we set our sites more northern. And if a business like this is thriving in Central-ish Maine, then surely a boutique that I would like to open couldn't do much worse.
(or one of several other business possibilities we have pondered).
*sigh*
Maine.
klemrev and I are deep into the forth season of Buffy: Vampire Slayer. And I must admit, I am enjoying it. I fear I am becoming a Joss Whedon fan.
Someone had best put me down before I add FireFly on my NetFlix queue...
A co-worker of mine lent my wife and I the first two seasons of Buffy: Vampyre slayer. The first season was kind of stupid, but we just finished disc three of the second season and it isn't too bad. I can see why people were/are so into the series, and get totally horny over Joss Whedon.
I bought some Pocky... but still need to find more before Friday.
Possibly some lichi gummies, too.
In the midst of a delightful conversation Saturday,
spikedheelskits told me a little about TWLOHA, a fledgling organization devoted to battling cutting and suicide.
This is right up my alley, something I can definately relate to and get behind. They get gold stars in my book.
I'm getting a t-shirt as soon as I figure out my finances.
Some of you know my friend Mason. Much like Ambrose (aka
revp) I've known Mason since we were ~5 years old. We grew up together in the wild backwoods or Pittston, Maine.
Now he's an actor and stand up comic in NYC. He's had the silliest bit parts in a ton of movies and tv shows. But I've never actually seen his stand up act, until now. Here are a couple of videos of him doing his thing.
I'm so proud of him!!
Anyone else find it weird that when Peter Parker has the black suit on his hair gets greasy and pulled down in front of his eyes and eyeliner magically appears.
Apparantly, the symbiote turns people Emo.

OH MY AWESOME!!
You might remember my design for a logo of
madhatterofoz's comic charater Super Mega Ten Cent Robot...
It's now officially a clothing line! :D
(yes, the hat is for real...)

My interwebzz is back... but for how long!! The aforemention announcement still remains in effect. If I was smart I'd be working on getting a few days worth of comics done... but I am actually quite dumb!
HEY!! Check this out!!
